Illstr. n. 39 and 40, pag. 57 - Illstr. n. 39: Lolium italicum
commonly known as Giogliarello or Gioglio (it is one of the best
forage plants, very much sought-after for cattle feeding). Illstr.
n. 40: Lolium temulentum commonly known as Gioglio or Lollio.
Weed that grows in both wheat and rye fields, it is also injurious
to human health, if eaten in a rather big quantity it can cause
spasms and delirum.Forage plant when still young, although its
seeds can be injurious to cattle, expecially to horses.
