	Description of the illustration The first edition was published in 1893 and was sold out in a few years, which is very good considering that in Italy farmers could hardly read. The author therefore decided to publish a second edition, but he died before finishing it. The publishing house then decided to entrust it to prof. Barpi. He had written many other manuals on farm animal breeding. He added whole new chapters to the book, widely enriching the entire work.
